London Chamber Orchestra
Graham has recently been appointed Composer in Residence with the London Chamber Orchestra. Over the next few years there will be new commissions alongside performances of some of Graham’s existing orchestral work. The first outing was in November 2008 the LCO, with solo clarinetist Mark van de Wiel, performed Graham’s clarinet concerto Agnostic at St John’s Smith Square, London.
This year Graham has been working on an educational programme between the LCO and the National Gallery, 'Composing Through Art', which culminated in workshops on 5 and 6 May, with a performance of the composers' work at St Johns Smith Square on 6 May and a subsequent performance at the National Gallery on 5 June.
During summer 2009 Graham will be working on the new piano concerto for Kathryn Stott and orchestra. This is a joint commission between Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Athens Camerata and the LCO. Each orchestra will premiere the piece in their own country around the turn of the year with the performance given by the LCO at St Johns Smith Square, London on 9 December 2009. Graham has started this work and it will last approximately 20 minutes.
